विषं सभा दरिद्रस्य वृद्धस्य तरुणी विषम् ॥ - चाणक्य नीति (४/१५)


Words meaning:

अनभ्यासे- Not Studying/ not updating/ not practicing the skills/ not having repeated reading.

विषं- Poison/ which kills

विद्या- Knowledge

अजीर्णे- Indigestion

भोजनं-Food

विषम्- Poison

सभा- Party/ Functions

दरिद्रस्य- Poor person's

वृद्धस्य- Old men's

तरुणी- Young girl

विषम्- Poison


Meaning of the Subhashita:

  1. The Knowledge is Poison for the one who is Not Studying/ not updating/ not practicing the skills/ not having repeated reading.

  2. The Food is Poison for the one who is having Indigestion.

  3. The Party/ Function is Poison for the one who is poor/ not wealthy or Poor men's Party is poison.

  4. The Young girl is Poison for the Old men or Old men's Young Girls is poison .
